KU Card
University of Kansas students, faculty and staff can ride all buses free by showing their KU Card upon boarding.
Day Pass
Valid for unlimited rides on one day, and must be purchased from driver on routes 1-11. Day pass is available for fixed-route buses only, not for paratransit service.
Monthly Pass
Recommended for riders who average at least 40 trips per calendar month, and should be purchased prior to the month pass will be used.
10-Ride Punch Card
Recommended for occasional riders who don’t want to worry about carrying exact change.
Bus Pass Sales Locations
Monthly passes and 10-ride punch cards can be purchased at the following locations:
- City Hall, Utility Billing Office (2nd Floor)
6 East 6th Street (on routes 4, 6)
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays

7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily
Cash, check, or credit cards accepted.
Day pass must be purchased from driver.
Transfers
If it is necessary to use more than one route to complete a one-way trip, ask the driver for a free transfer when you pay your fare. A transfer is valid up to two hours on any T or KU on Wheels bus, except the route on which it was issued. Transfers cannot be used for a round trip.
Reduced Fare Policy
Certain passengers are eligible for a reduced fare on fixed-route service:
- Students in grades K-12
- Haskell Indian Nations University students
- Age 60+
- Persons with disabilities - Medicare or T Lift cardholder
Passengers seeking a reduced fare are required to prove their status through a valid state-issued or student ID, Medicare card or T Lift ID (provided by Lawrence Transit System). Only students in grades K-9 are not required to show proof of age to qualify for reduced fare.
Riders who cannot show proof of eligibility will be charged full fare. Reduced fare passes can only be sold to the eligible individual or to parents of children.
